Come fly the tasty skies

We had a wonderful visit with family in Houston, TX.  I also got to make an airplane cake to boot!

We decided to celebrate 2 birthdays during our visit and since the airplane ride over was hit for my kids…the airplane cake was borne…air-borne, that is.

My sister-in-law actually took pictures of the plane’s progress.  Looking back, it’s hard to remember how it all started, so I was very happy she did it.

As you can tell, it is a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting.  I used a 9×13 and a loaf pan for the cake and somehow managed to create the following (can you tell we visited during Valentines weekend?):
