Christening candle cake

I revisited the baptismal candle cake for my godchild’s (Nathan) new baby sister, Elizabeth.  I previously made one for his baptism 2 1/2 years earlier…

This time, I had a little bit more time to plan and the cake was much smaller in size.  I used 3 large tomato sauce cans to bake a carrot cake and used a wooden dowel to stabilize it.  If you want to bake in a can, use a roll of parchment paper to line the sides of the can so it is easier to pop the cake out after baking.  I sprayed the inside of the can w/ pam, then lined it with the parchment paper.  The cake was about 1 1/2 feet tall and fed ~20-24 people.
