Cookies!

After my first cookie decorating experience, I consulted a couple of experts including my sister-in-law, the web, and Martha Stewart (books). I used royal icing and although there are a lot of recipes calling for raw egg whites, I decided to use pasteurized egg whites in a carton to make sure I wouldn’t get anyone sick. Meringue powder is also used, but the pasteurized egg whites gave my cookies a more satiny type sheen that I don’t get with the meringue powder.
